There’s a tree in every corner, lights twinkling all around, and the sound of carols as you stroll. The holidays have arrived at Magnolia Market and we’re giving you a tour of the shop all dressed up for the season. Read about the inspiration behind this season’s display and see photos of the Market decorated for Christmas.
Season’s Greetings
The inspiration for this season’s display came from a set of vintage embossed Christmas cards our visual display team found. Each of the cards is detailed with ornate designs, elaborate lettering, and textures. Our team loved the way a carefully crafted card with a handwritten note shows us that we have been thought of in a special way. They wanted to convey that same kind of attention and care to every guest who entered the Market this season, so they transformed the entryway to mimic those vintage cards. You can see the detail of each card below:
As soon as you step into the Market, the wall on the left is designed to look like a larger-than-life version of those vintage embossed cards. Our team handpainted a snowy depiction of The Old Church from the Silos grounds, then set it behind a laser-cut bell made from wood. Around the top of the bell, holly and fir tree branches crafted from paper bring dimension to the wall, while vibrant red berries add a pop of color. The team spent many hours cutting each pine needle to make them appear lifelike.
With Best Wishes
The Christmas card theme continues as you move further into the Market. A hand-painted display reads, “With best wishes and holiday cheer,” adorned with the same dimensional paper greenery and berries as the greeting wall. Simply lit Christmas trees of various sizes stand underneath the sign around the display tables.
Ring the Bells
In the kitchen area, the display team layered traditional motifs of vintage bells and greenery to match the nostalgic feel of the Christmas cards. A paper swag with handmade antique-inspired bells crafted from paper hangs over the display table. The gold metallic treatment on the bells is echoed in various pieces throughout the store. By the end of the production process, our team perfected the art of making things look like vintage gold.
Starry Arch
Toward the back of the store, a golden arch stretches over the candle display table in an intricate embossed design. Gold wire beams emanate from the arch with paper stars attached throughout and a paper swag over top.
All Throughout the Market
And that’s not all—the entire shop is dressed for the holidays with glistening trees, vintage-inspired ornaments, and a mantel hung with greenery and stockings. Take a look at some of our other favorite scenes:
