Summer at the Silos Itinerary

by Magnolia
Published on May 13, 2025

Some things in life just go better together. Take sunshine and silos, for example. Every season is special at Magnolia, but summer at the Silos is hard to beat. Between the extra daylight, vibrant colors, and slower pace of life, our little corner of Waco, Texas, thrives this time of year.

So, we’re celebrating with the theme of boundless: choosing to see ourselves, and the world around us, through the lens of unlimited potential. This idea shows up across our brand this summer—from the handcrafted displays in Magnolia Market and stories in Magnolia Journalto the home goods on our shelves and delicious flavors served at Magnolia Table. We’re diving deep into the spirit of summer around here, and we hope you’ll feel it, too.

If you’re planning a vacation to Waco and need some ideas to start, start here. We hope you’ll join us in soaking up the season with live artists, craft workshops, activities for kids, and free fun every weekend, all summer long. Here's to blue skies, sunshine, and days spent the best way we know how—together.

PLAN YOUR TRIP

Morning

Top of the morning to you! Beat the afternoon heat with an early start—and some extra time to savor a cup of coffee.

  • Download our app for all things Magnolia, plus an interactive map of the Silos to help guide your visit.
  • Get moving during a free morning workout class with a local fitness studio on the Silos lawn! Available the first Friday of every month through August.
  • Grab a cup of coffee or tea at Magnolia Press. (Hint, hint: It tastes even better paired with a pastry.)
  • Once you’re fueled for the day, head over to Magnolia Home to take in inspiring room scenes. This is also where you can shop our furniture and rug collections in real life—and ship your finds home if you’re packing light.
  • Stroll through our gardens to see what’s growing this season. Many of the blooms planted at the Silos are also in Jo’s garden, like gomphrena and zinnias. Click hereOpens in new tab to get the full Silos Garden Experience.
  • Take advantage of the cool morning air during a Magnolia Story TourOpens in new tab led by one of our knowledgeable tour guides.

Afternoon

Halftime! Make space for a moment of pause and fuel up for all the fun to come.

  • Enjoy lunch at our sit-down restaurant, Magnolia Table, with classic dishes featuring the best of seasonal produce. (Located just an 8-minute drive from the Silos!) We recommend reserving a tableOpens in new tab 1–2 weeks in advance, but you can also order to-go or browse our Take Away + Shop while you wait.
  • Head back over the Silos to shop! Consider starting at our flagship store, Magnolia Market. Here, you’ll discover our latest collection and summer displays. See how many kites you can count while you wander…
  • Make your way over to the Shops at the Silos for more. (Be sure to stop by Weekend to personalize jewelry or a leather tote!) Keep your eyes peeled for free activities scattered around the grounds. Think bubbles, storytime, craft workshops, and more.
  • Time for a snow cone! Stop by Summer Snow and explore the rest of our local food trucks for a refreshing treat.
  • Just for summer at the Silos, we’ve invited some talented artists to create around the grounds. Head over to the Historic Barn and Magnolia Press patio to see who’s visiting this weekend!

Evening

What a day…but it’s not over yet! Here are a few more must-dos before you go.

Pull up a seat on the lawn and look up at the Texas sky. A striped bean-bag chair is calling your name.

To end the day on a sweet note, stop by Silos Baking Co.—and maybe take a few extra treats to go. May we recommend our limited-time Peaches 'n Cream Cupcake?

Commemorate your trip with a memory in printed form at our Photo Booth. Get two photo strips for just $5.

Play a pick-up game of Wiffle Ball at our historic field, Katy Ballpark. Don’t forget to grab some mini donuts at the concessions next door!

Take a rest in The Old Church, plus read up on its history and enjoy an art gallery from a local artist.

Last, but not least, take a picture under our #MilesToMagnolia photo op (next to Silos Baking Co.) and tell us how far you traveled over on @visitmagnoliaOpens in new tab.

More Around Town

Once you’ve wrapped up your time at the Silos, there’s still plenty more to explore! From a century-old castle nestled in the heart of Waco to the historic gristmill where Jo films her cooking show, we’d love to show you around more places near to our hearts as a company. See all tour offerings and book yours here.

If you plan on spending the night (or two, or three…), we’d love to host you at Hotel 1928Opens in new tab or one of our vacation rentals. Providing guests a “home away from home” while in Waco is one of our greatest joys!

Friendly reminder: All Magnolia locations are closed on Sundays. If you’re staying through the weekend and looking for local recommendations, check out our Waco City Guide and Ways to Stay Cool in Waco. Don’t be afraid to find your own favorite spots, too!

…and when the day comes to a close, we hope you leave here feeling inspired to make space for meaningful moments in life—and right at home.
