Ways to Welcome the Holidays into Your Home

by Magnolia
Published on October 14, 2024

It sweeps in the moment a chill hits the air. We’re brought back to the days of yore, brimming with baked goods, warm twinkle lights, and the building anticipation of magical snow days. In every sense, we remember how the holidays earned their name as the most wonderful time of the year.

Here’s the thing about this season: It comes as quickly as it goes. This time, meant for celebratory togetherness, can quickly fill with to-dos and travels and tasks that pine for priority. But, beneath all the hustle, these days lie—ready for our taking. So, consider this permission to slow down and hold the gift while we have it. This is the wonder we wait for all year.

To start counting down the days, we’re sharing five tangible ways to welcome the holidays at home—each serving as a simple reminder to savor the sights, smells, sounds, and good tidings that surround us.

Filling the Air

Here at Magnolia, we believe the flicker of a new candle can be the first sign of changing seasons. Something about fresh yet familiar scents filling the air recalls memories worth reliving year after year. Our holiday candles are among some of our favorites, and each encapsulates the best of the winter in fragrance form. To light the way…

JOYEUX NOEL: Fresh fruit and spice, just like Christmas morning.

TWELVE NIGHTS: Woodsy cedar and fir, just like ski season.

If you can’t decide, consider a candle bundle. Our duo of mini tins is an easy way to try two festive scents this season. Plus, they’re the perfect size to fill a stocking or top a gift!

Sweeter by the Dozen

In our humble opinion, one of the best ways to delight in the season is to clear the calendar for a day of candy-making and holiday baking. Doubling a tried-and-tested recipe can create a little extra Christmas cheer. Plus, sharing the end result is the sweetest way to brighten someone’s day, especially if you leave a box of goodies on your neighbor’s doorstep!

On the Record

Do you hear what we hear? Cozy tunes floating through the air can be the backdrop for creating new memories while bringing old ones top of mind. Plus, a good playlist makes simple, everyday moments feel that much more special. We’re sharing our favorite songs to pair with hot chocolate, fuzzy socks, and chestnuts roasting by the open fire. (Cue Nat King Cole…)
