Our original order arrived with two plates broken, but it was quickly rectified and we received two new plates that were in perfect condition. Condition. We bought these at the silos in Waco. "1st, the dishes were very well packaged. There's plenty of room on the plates and the raised rim ensures the food is plated well. Looks like pottery, and I have a set of dishes that are pottery, and they, too, have scratches on them. It's not porcelain. Some of the reviews complain about it. Here's what to do. Cover them with delicious food! Use them. Care for them. Enjoy having them in your cupboard, and on your table. What doesn't show some wear? We do, too. God bless!"

"I LOVE my French White Speckle plates and I love that I was able to get 16 of them along with the salad plates. They are exactly what I wanted when looking to replace my old dishes. They go in the dishwasher and come out clean. Love the "used" look and as I am a casual person who appreciates their differences as they are used. I don't like that they can chip, but that is normal with a glass plate."
