Designed to work with Chalk Style Paint, Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines Clear and Dark Wax are soft, pliable, low odor, and easy to work with. It's a great way to seal and protect the surface or add age and character.

For darker stain, apply several coats of Dark Wax to get it as dark as you want; build up the wax in layers. If too dark, remove the excess Dark Wax from the surface by re-applying Clear Wax

Paint the entire piece using 2 coats of Chalk Style Paint for full coverage and hide
Seal the surface by applying a thin layer of Clear Wax. Wipe it with a rag to remove any excess
Focus on highlighting the best features of the furniture piece, you want the wax to get stuck in the crevices Wipe on Dark Wax and wipe off shortly after
Use a piece of fine-grade sandpaper or sander to remove paint film from corners and adages. Work gently to determine how much of the beneath surface you want to reveal.

"This is a more expensive paste wax for chalk painted pieces but so worth the price. It went on evenly with a wax brush and buffed to a beautiful subtle shine. It also had a faint citrus smell which was pleasant. You get what you pay for and the quality was great!"

Perfect color, good not great quality

"I had a little trouble with the paint gumming up a little bit with the second coat, but other than that - I love it. It's nice and thick, good coverage, and pretty easy to work with minus the gumming. The color however makes up for any flaws. It is the most perfect, gorgeous, soft, inky black - EXACTLY what I wanted, and matches the pictures, and couldn't find in other brands. I'm so happy with it!"

"These waxes, in combination with the Magnolia chalk paint, transformed a 100 year old door into something beautiful, and the dark wax highlights its wonderful age. My adult children think I’m weird because I make them touch the door so they can feel how buttery-soft and smooth it is with the clear wax finish! My shipment never arrived

"I’m still yet to receive this item. The shipment sent to me mistakenly contained the wrong items. I called magnolia to get this rectified. Was told the wax was on its way. It still has not arrived. I actually called magnolia yesterday and was in the process of being helped when our call just cut off mid sentence at 5pm CT. I guess their phones just turn off, which is AWFUL customer service"

Can you put 2 coats of wax?: Hi Frances, that is a wonderful questions. It is actually recommended to use 2 coats for full coverage and hide. I truly hope that this information helps!
