A hand-drawn, wax-resist pattern gives the Heirloom Noel Ceramic Canister the look of holiday china passed down rather than picked up new this year. The motif, developed in house and inspired by traditional delft pottery, turns a working piece of kitchen storage into something worth leaving out on the counter well past December.

Lift the lid and you'll find room enough for flour ahead of a baking afternoon, sugar for a batch of peppermint bark, or a stash of hot cocoa mix kept ready for guests. This is a piece built for real, daily use, not just occasional display. A coffee station comes together quickly with a stack of holiday mugs and a stray tea towel nearby, while a sideboard filled with a few taper candlesticks and a run of garland gives the same canister a second life as a still life rather than storage.

The deep red color holds its own through years of handling, and the delft-style pattern is old enough not to date itself against next year's trends.
