Some things in life just go better together. Take sunshine and silos, for example. Every season is wonderful at Magnolia, but summer at the Silos is hard to beat. Between the extra daylight, vibrant colors, and slower pace of life, our little corner of Waco, Texas, thrives this time of year.

Whether you’re planning a quick trip or a week-long vacation, you’ve come to the right place. Keep reading for some ideas on making the most of your visit—and be sure to follow @visitmagnolia for real-time updates as you make your itinerary.

We hope you’ll join us to savor simple joys and special weekends all season long. Adventure starts now!

PLAN YOUR TRIP

A FEW GOOD-TO-KNOWS

We can’t wait to see you at the Silos! Read on for a few things to know before you go:

Hours: The grounds are open from 9am–6pm Monday through Saturday. But you can get your coffee fix a little earlier, as Magnolia Press opens at 7am. Our restaurant, Magnolia Table, is open from 7am–3pm Monday through Wednesday—and stays open until 9pm for dinner Thursday through Saturday. As a friendly reminder, all Magnolia locations are closed on Sundays. (Psst! Stay tuned for some bonus days throughout the summer season…)

Parking: Free parking is available along 6th Street, 8th Street, and Webster Avenue. There are also two free lots on the corner of 9th Street and Webster Avenue.

What to bring: Summertime in Texas can get hot, so be sure to dress accordingly, wear sunscreen if you’d like, and stay hydrated. We have water fountains located around the grounds to refill reusable bottles and plenty of drinks available for purchase. (Did someone say sweet tea?)

What to Do on Day 1

Welcome! Beat the heat with an early start—and plenty of time to savor the day.

Morning

  • Enjoy brunch at our sit-down restaurant, Magnolia Table, with classic dishes featuring the best of seasonal produce. We recommend reserving a table 1–2 weeks in advance.
  • Head to the Silos to shop! Consider starting at our flagship store, Magnolia Market. Here, you’ll discover our latest collection and summer displays. See how many strawberries you can count while you wander…
  • Next, visit Magnolia Home to take in inspiring room scenes. This is also where you can shop our furniture and rug collections in real life—and ship your finds home if you’re packing light.
  • Take advantage of the cool morning air during an Inside Magnolia Tour led by one of our knowledgeable guides.
  • Rest for a bit in The Old Church, plus read up on its century-old history.

Afternoon

  • Make your way over to the Shops at the Silos to find something you love.
  • Stroll through our gardens to see what’s growing this season. Many of the blooms planted at the Silos are also in Jo’s garden!
  • Try your hand at a new hobby during our Pressed Floral Art Workshop.
  • Just for summer at the Silos, we’ve invited some of our favorite artists, musicians, and brands to share their talent around the grounds. Swing by their weekend pop-ups to say hi!
  • Relax and cool off—with a view. You can even grab a bite from the food trucks or one of our eateries, then take it to the roof of Magnolia Market for a lunch break. Purchase rooftop passes here.

Evening

  • Lace up to play a pick-up game of Wiffle Ball at our historic field, Katy Ballpark
  • Wind down the day with some mini donuts at the stand next to the ballpark.
  • Did someone say double dessert? Stop by the Coffee & Cupcakes Truck on your way out to make a treat box you can save for a late-night snack.
  • Take a quick walk (or drive) over to explore Hotel 1928 and enjoy drinks at Bertie’s on the Rooftop.
  • Head downstairs for dinner at The Brasserie at Hotel 1928 to enjoy Southern classics with a Texas twist.

Morning

  • Get moving during a free morning workout class on the Silos lawn! (Available on select days only. Click here to see the schedule.)
  • Grab an iced coffee or tea at Magnolia Press. Hint, hint: It tastes even better paired with a pastry.
  • Pull up a seat on the lawn and look up at the Texas sky. A striped bean-bag chair is calling your name.
  • Time for a snow cone! Stop by Summer Snow and explore the rest of our local food trucks for a refreshing treat.
  • Check out the one-of-a-kind home featured on Fixer Upper: The Castle. See tour offerings and book yours here.

Afternoon

  • Enjoy some friendly competition with Mahjong Open Play in The Old Church.
  • Find a spot to relax and enjoy any live music happening on the grounds.
  • Check out The Sale Shop, located downstairs in Magnolia Market. Here, you’ll find last-chance items sold at a discount.
  • Commemorate your trip with a memory in printed form at our Photo Booth.
  • After you’ve said “cheese,” head outside to pin one of your photo strips onto the interactive wall (located on the stage). Here's to chasing adventure together!

Evening

  • Keep your eyes peeled for other activities happening around the grounds. Think craft workshops, special pop-ups, and more.
  • To end the day on a sweet note, stop by Silos Baking Co.—and maybe take a few extra treats to go. May we recommend our limited-time Peaches 'n Cream Cupcake?
  • Last, but not least, take a picture under our #MilesToMagnolia photo op (next to Silos Baking Co.) and tell us how far you traveled by tagging us @visitmagnolia.
  • Head back over to Magnolia Table, this time to try the dinner menu.
  • Start planning your next trip to the Silos.
