Counter stool from MagnolIa home / Jackson or Wharton

"I ordered three Jackson counter stools form Magnolia Home in August. They finally arrive today. On the outside of the box, the description of the counter stool is Wharton not Jackson. I googled Wharton counter stool (thinking I was shipped the wrong item) and it is exactly the same as the Jackson counter stools from Magnolia Home. The only difference is the price. There are other retailers in the market offering this stool for $385; I paid $450. I called Magnolia Home to see if the CS agent can apply a small discount toward my purchase. I was told "no can do - it is what it is". How unfortunate--a 5%-10% discount is much more favorable for both parties than losing a $1500 sale to a competitor. I am a fan of Chip and Joanne and all things Magnolia but from now on, I will shop at the other places first. For a small discount, I would walk away a happy customer--now I am just disappointed. It's really not the money; it's down to sale/service 101--meet the customer half way - you have a loyal customer for life. I was thinking of other pieces through Magnolia Home but now I will think twice before purchasing."
