Watch How Our Fall Visual Displays Came Together at Magnolia Market

Install day at the Market is one of my favorite days. Chip and the kids play out on the lawn while I hang out in the shop with the visual team as they put each display together. I love bringing the kids and watching them take in all that our team has created. It's like a big reveal at the end of the day.

There's so much dreaming and planning that happens on the front end—the detail and creativity that goes into every single corner of the store amazes me. I'm so proud of our team and the amount of heart they put into every display you see. I love it so much that I wanted you to get a behind-the-scenes look into how each new season comes together at the Silos. I hope you can visit us soon and see it for yourself, but if you can't make it to Waco—I hope you enjoy this glimpse into how the magic unfolds at the shop!

Pampas Grass

The cover of the fall magazine was a major source of inspiration for the store visuals. The rich golden color and the movement of the pampas grass gives the space a whimsical autumn feel. You see these tall stalks right when you walk in, which sets the tone for all of the other displays.

Preserves

The story on preserves in the fall magazine inspired this display. There’s a subtle beauty in simple glass jars filled with all the colors of the season. They’re hanging in this resin display so that the light can shine through and really make them stand out in the shop.

Weaving

I love the simple and primitive nature of weaving. It’s raw and organic. It’s symbolic of life - how intertwined and woven the threads truly are. The natural earth tones tie in perfectly with our fall color palette.

Paintbrushes

This year, I had a friend of mine teach me about watercolor. This art form is such an intentional way to express the creativity that I believe is within all of us. I’ve always loved the raw and natural beauty of a paintbrush. The idea behind this display was to take that beauty and do something extraordinary with it in an abstract way. You’ll see it in a hanging display piece and the mantel piece, as well as my personal favorite, the peacock.

Peacock

Peacocks have a hidden beauty that has always intrigued me. To me, they represent the rare beauty of walking in the fullness of who you are, which I love for the theme of being made ready. We used simple watercolor paper and tore feathers by hand for the body, and incorporated paintbrushes for the tail.
