I have learned that I love having a couple of really good, really simple baked treats in my back pocket for days that call for something sweet. Whether it’s an after-school treat for the kids or a weekend pick-me-up, it’s always a comfort to know I can whip something up fairly quickly that will not only warm our home, but our bellies too. This Bundt cake is a favorite among my boys. Between the butter cake base and the pecan, cinnamon, and brown sugar filling, it also makes the house smell heavenly! The banana bread is a Gaines weekly staple, and one I’ve been making since the kids were little. Whenever we have at least four to five overly ripe bananas in the fruit basket, I know this quick bread is one my family will love!

Dense butter cake filled with a delicious mixture of pecans, cinnamon, and brown sugar, topped with a dusting of powdered sugar.
