Ingredients
- 2 cups white long-grain rice
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Directions
- Place the rice in a large bowl of cold water. Use your hands to stir and release the starch. Drain and repeat until the water runs clear.
- In a saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, salt, and 2 1/2 cups water. Stir and bring to a boil. Cover the pot with a tightly fitting lid. Reduce the heat to low. Cook the rice for 18 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let sit for 15 minutes. Remove the lid and fluff the cooked rice with a fork.
