Strawberry Sweet Tea

Makes 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chopped strawberries (8 to 10 medium), plus whole strawberries for garnish
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 Earl Grey tea bags
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Mint sprigs, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a medium pot, bring the chopped strawberries, sugar and 4 cups water to a low boil.
  2. Turn off the heat, add the tea bags, and steep for 3 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, fill a pitcher with 4 cups ice.
  4. Remove the tea bags from the strawberry mixture, add the lemon juice, and pour the tea over the ice.
  5. Let cool until all the ice is melted. Strain the chopped strawberries if desired.
  6. Serve the tea in glasses over ice and garnish with the mint and whole strawberries.
