There was a time when I used to drink a good amount of tea, so there’s always some in my house. I developed this recipe as an easy way to use the tea I had in the pantry and turn it into something a little more special and refreshing.
Ingredients
10 cups filtered water
1/3 cup orange blossom honey
Pinch of kosher salt
4 to 5 Earl Grey tea bags, strings tied together
2 lemons, 1 juiced and 1 cut into slices
Gin, vodka, or tequila, for serving (optional)
Citrus flavored sparkling water, to serve
Rosemary sprigs, to serve
Directions
In a large stockpot over medium heat, combine the filtered water, honey, and salt. Place the tea bags in the water with the tags draped over the edge of the pot.
Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow the tea to steep for 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove the tea bags and add the lemon juice. Transfer to a large serving jug, add ice, and top with alcohol (if using) and some sparkling water.
Garnish the jug with the lemon slices and rosemary sprigs and serve.
